I just got back from a spring vacation visiting family in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was such a great time and a much needed opportunity for us to dry out and enjoy some warm weather. We traveled with our kids, so of course there was lots of pool time in addition to train park play, horse back riding, spring training baseball games and tractor-driving (we have an uncle who lives on a ranch).
With spring break upon us, I thought I would share my vacation packing list. Keep in mind, as mentioned above, I was traveling with kids, so my suitcase was filled with easy and casual, yet chic pieces. If heading out to more glamorous (read: adult) events, you may consider adding a few dressier pieces in addition to my casual favorites below.
The key to packing light, and creating a versatile wardrobe, is having pieces that can easily be interchanged with one another as well be dressed up and down. I gravitate towards neutrals – navy, fatigue and white tend to be favorites during the warmer months of spring and summer. In addition, packing a few items in a punch of color and including eye-catching accessories can upgrade a look from day to evening and add a special touch to an otherwise simple outfit.
Notice how all of the pieces can play together and easily be interchanged to create a variety of outfits? Now add a few special accessories and your possibilities can be endless!
Hope your spring plans include some relaxation and play in the sunshine! I know that a sunny break can inspire and get me thru until Seattle’s temperatures finally rise…in mid-July. Thanks for reading!
