I’ve been working from home more and, as always, I spend a lot of time with my kids as their primary caretaker. Mostly this is a job that I relish and I prioritize being available for school volunteering opportunities, after-school carpooling, and dinner prep. One downside? My nicer things tend to remain in my closet during my daily routine. As such, I’m trying to be mindful of the pieces that I’m adding to my wardrobe and being more (gulp) realistic with regards to cost per wear. And while I am definitely a person that subscribes to the belief that you should wear your expensive perfume daily and eat off of your fine china; wearing “dry clean only” clothes while on the school playground seems a bit impractical (not to mention expensive!).
When I recently was introduced to Serpentine Jewelry, I immediately fell in love with their “everyday luxury” fine jewelry. Serpentine’s collection of mix-and-match chains and pendants, earrings, and beaded bracelets can be worn for most any occasion. Using organic stones set in raw diamonds, the sparkle is subtle yet statement making. Everyday wear that can withstand the test of motherhood.
And I love the collection element of their designs. Purchase a chain with an amazing diamond clasp and add pendants and charms as you build your wardrobe. Switch them out depending on the occasion or wear them all together (always my preference). Or, start with one beaded bracelet complete with a statement bead, hamsa or evil eye then add another…and another.
Most importantly, I treasure knowing the story behind the artists crafting this beautiful line. I can’t wait to share with you more about how Jill and Sally (two Seattle friends) started Serpentine and how they have built this business together. Teaser alert: they are just as beautiful and unique as the stones they use to craft their jewelry. Plus I love a good buddy story – they are best friends and neighbors as well!
Check back in on Wednesday as I share a second, dressier look styling these gorgeous jewels. From “carpool to cocktails”…I’ll be trading my clogs for heels for a kid-free night out! And, I’ll be telling more of Jill and Sally’s story. I was lucky enough to interview them earlier this month; these are two fun gals you would enjoy getting to know over a cup of coffee (or a cocktail!). And, as if you need more convincing, mark your calendars for Saturday, February 9th. If you are in the Seattle-area, Serpentine is hosting a trunk show at La Ree Boutique in Bellevue. Come try on jewels and meet these lovely ladies for yourself!
{outfit details} tee: Bobi | cardigan: Not Monday | denim: Agolde | clogs: No.6
I am wearing the “Curb Chain” paired with geode and starburst pendants. Also pave earrings and my bracelets found here, here, and here.
Taking pictures with kids is tough…but so rewarding! Basically like parenting. The girls thoroughly enjoyed playing dress-up and modeling. I did too. Mostly.
Thank you for reading. Come back Wednesday for a second look and more about the creative forces behind Serpentine! ~Jenn
