Your tree is trimmed and your ham glazed. As the champagne chills, you’re feverishly searching through your closet for something to wear.
You’ve been invited to a NYE bash and, with “nothing to wear,” you are up late, absently scrolling online sites, feeling uninspired. Keyword search: “FESTIVE.”
Sound all too familiar?
First, take a deep breathe. You have already pulled off the miracle of Christmas. You’ve got this.
Then, turn to your own wardrobe for inspiration. That blazer you “only wear for work” or that sparkly dress you reserve for fancy nights-out, can easily be turned into a hostess outfit with a little imagination. Re-purposing clothes you already own and, perhaps only wear for specific occasions, is an excellent way to style an outfit in items you already love; saving yourself the headache of going to the mall this time of year. Not-to-mention, reserve your budget for gift giving!
Top a fancy party dress with a cardigan to make it more casual; perfect for hosting. Or wear a little sparkly camisole under that tailored blazer. And accessories can transform any look. In a pinch, sub out sensible shoes for a heel. Add those big earrings you could never wear all day. Texture and sparkly details are the name of the game. Never underestimate the festive powers of a well-placed glitzy hair pin!
