I wasn’t kidding about the lounge pant being my new go-to pant. Particularly as the thermometer climbs, bringing unseasonably warmer days here in Seattle (really – above 80), my jeans feel too heavy, restrictive…and tight. Yet my legs haven’t seen the light of day in many months, so shorts remain out of the question!

In my last post, I made note of 3 rules (if you will) for bringing lounge pants out from behind closed doors. In this outfit, I am following all of them in an effort to make this comfortable pant stylish – ready to meet friends for a drink (an icy cold one!).
Tank: Stem
Define your waist: Loose pants paired with an oversized top read too comfy, bordering on sloppy. Tuck, tie or add a belt to create some shape.
Shoes: Banana Republic
Pair with a polished shoe: A heel is unexpected and the dichotomy lends interest to the outfit. While your lounge pants may be begging to be paired with their best friend, the flip flop; adding a heel or detailed sandal can take the pant away from the beach and all the way to happy hour.
Earrings: Anthropologie (similar)
Accessorize: Not to be overlooked! The addition of thoughtful details make your outfit look planned rather than plucked from your jammy drawer. Notice here, I have added a pop of color with the bright pink then tied it in with all of my accessories while my clothes remain in a neutral pallet.
Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff
Your outfit should tell a story – each piece complimenting the other, adding interest and, most importantly, reflecting who you are. Trends change and so do you. The clothes we choose and the outfits we put together are a reflection of how we are feeling. And…right now, I’m feeling comfortable.
Pants: Joie (mine are from last year)
