Joie is one of my favorite brands. The quality, vibrant patterns, and effortless cuts are in keeping with my “laid-back, luxury” style. Often a splurge at full price, I seek this brand out on sale and at discount retailers (The Rack often has a good selection, also keep an eye out on flash sites like HauteLook).
Funny enough, I used to pronounce this brand as “Joey.” Clearly I never took French. However, I am not alone in my erroneous pronunciation! My sister was on the hunt for a dress she had seen, calling several stores asking for the Joey dress – it took a snotty salesperson to set us both straight. Pronounced juh-wa, it means joy. Regardless of how you say it, I can totally get behind that!
I’m loving my new earrings made by my amazingly talented friend Kirsty (check out her blog). Their simple, modern design, and the mixed metals make them so easy to wear – effortless with a casual outfit, yet polished enough for a more sophisticated look. They are new to Kirsty’s collection but email her if you are interested (and tell her I sent you!)
