Recently I had the pleasure of meeting renowned make-up artist and beauty guru, Charlotte Tilbury. In addition to spending 20 years in the industry as a make-up artist working with Hollywood starlets, Charlotte has served in an advisory role to several cosmetic companies until launching her own brand under her name in 2013.
During a luxurious lunch, hosted by Nordstrom, guests were introduced to Charlotte’s line and received a tutorial from Charlotte on the application of several of her “looks.” Based on 10 beauty personas, these looks range from youthful (“The Ingénue”) to glamorous (“The Bombshell”) and even rebellious (aptly named “The Rebel”).
After purchasing her Goddess Skin Clay Mask (if you buy one thing – this is it!) and falling in love with my newfound “baby skin” (as the product promises), I knew a trip back to play at the cosmetic counter was in order! I enlisted 2 of my best buddies and together the 3 of us got seriously glam (and in some trouble!).
Below are a several must-have products that came home with me and a tutorial from the cosmetic queen herself on my personal favorite look, “The Uptown Girl”:
Truly a miracle, my eyes never looked better (and the makeup artist kindly told me I was using an odd color previously).
Perfect for sculpting cheekbones – the bronze color contours while the highlighter is a dewy-looking shimmer for highlighting brow and on top of cheekbones. Not sparkly but a subtle, natural shimmer.
Matte Revolution ‘Lost Cherry’
I’m loving this bright for summer (never-mind the cheeky name). This was definitely a welcome addition to my collection!
These chubby eye crayons are so easy to apply and have some serious staying power. I’ve been thickly lining both my upper and lower lash line and then smudging with a Q-Tip. The ‘Golden Haze’ color really brings out the green in my eyes. I’ve also tried ‘Champagne Diamonds’ which is a more subtle sparkling rose-gold.
On a budget? Charlotte’s YouTube channel is fantastic for all kinds of inspiration. In particular, I loved this one in which she uses her favorite drugstore brands.
The results! I’m wearing “The Ingénue” look, Alli is wearing “The Dolce Vita Babe” and Cassandra “The Rebel” – check out Charlotte’s channel for all of the how-to’s for her 10 looks.
Happy Friday and thanks for reading! ~Jenn
