Two weeks ago I was living a dream! Eight of my college girlfriends and I reunited for a trip of a lifetime visiting beautiful and historic Charleston, South Carolina. We left kids at home (17 in total!) and enjoyed all that Charleston has to offer: outstanding beaches, amazing architecture, incredible history, and delicious food. Most importantly, we had time to catch-up and reconnect. Despite family and work commitments, and being dispersed throughout the country, it truly felt like we had not missed a beat!
I plan to share more of our girls weekend in a future blog post…stay tuned next week. In the meantime, I’m giving y’all a peek into my suitcase for a weekend getaway. With many staple accessories on repeat, I packed a few key summer pieces that made my vacation style both easy to travel in and chic.

dress: Peridot Boutique (20% off the entire site with “WHATJENNWORE20”)
hat: Something Special
earrings: Lucia K Jewelry
bandana: 2Chic (found at Queen Anne Frame)
sandals: Sam Edelman (30% off!)
sunnies: Tom Ford
bag: Coach (sale!)
I scored this flat brim straw hat in a local boutique – I love finding gems in local stores when traveling. I wore it all weekend! And then had to travel home with not one, but two hats!

skirt: H&M
tee: Sol Angeles
sandals: Sam Edelman
bag: Coach
hat: Madewell x Biltmore
necklaces: Lucia K. Jewelry, Gorijana
sunnies: Tom Ford
When packing for the trip, I took Charleston’s warm and, often humid, spring weather into consideration. I also knew that we would be spending some time exploring the city, so comfort was key. Therefore, I packed my trusty Brooks sneakers, expecting to be covering some miles while seeing all of Charleston’s sites. I also packed plenty of light, breezy summer staples such as loose dresses, a linen jumpsuit, and an easy pant. When out and about, I wanted to dress presentably but also be cool and comfortable. The most critical item in my suitcase…SPF of course!

top: Topshop (similar)
pants: Free People
sneakers: Brooks Heritage (c/o)
bracelets: guitar string bracelets (found at Queen Anne Dispatch)

jumpsuit: LACAUSA

dress: BB Dakota
sandals: Joie (last year)
Packing is made easy by repeating your accessories. If you notice, I am wearing the same easy cross-body bag with every outfit (seemingly bright orange goes with everything!). I enjoyed being hands-free and free from the weight of my daily carry-all tote. A hat and sunnies were staples to protect against Charleston’s beautiful sunshine. Then I add a few statement pieces of jewelry – bright tassel earrings and layered necklaces and bracelets are my summer go-to’s. As for shoes (which can take up a lot of room in a suitcase), I wore my sneakers on the plane and then packed one flat sandal and one pair of heels to go out in.

Stay tuned next week as I plan to share more of our amazing girls getaway, complete with a few interesting facts on Charleston. In the meantime, happy Friday! I hope that you have some fun summer adventuring of your own planned and that I can offer some style inspiration as you prepare to get out and enjoy this magical time of year! Thanks for reading. ~Jenn
A special ‘thank you’ to my bestie (pictured above on the far right) for patiently snapping all of my pictures for me. If only we lived in the same city, you would get to see more of her “work.”
