Nordstrom Sale: Kids Picks & Activewear Faves

The fall sale of the season is in full swing for Nordstrom cardholders. Hoarding miles instead of Nordstrom points? Not to worry, your moment is almost here (finally!); as the sale opens to the public tomorrow! Prepare your wish list and shop early because, although most everything does get replenished, inventory can be low! Especially for those popular items (like those in the catalog…or the Vince loafers). In the meantime, I am offering some kid’s clothes inspiration, because it feels good to shop for others. Oh, and some activewear picks, well, because we all need that kind of inspiration!

The Star Wars sweatshirt is on the top on my son’s list. And, because I’m always looking for a solid jean, these Hudson straight leg ones have fit the bill for the past couple of years. Lastly, new Nike sneakers are his request (mine is that he waits until the start of school to wear the new ones!)

I’m always a fan of the Tucker & Tate, Nordstrom brand. In particular, their leggings are always a quality product and a great value (and my girls are hard on their pants!). I also got the girls’ last year’s plaid dress and have just bought this year’s update in navy and red. Light-up Skechers are also on their wish list (honestly, I have mixed feelings about these). And I always love the Tea Collection prints and their cotton pieces are so well-made.

Several of these picks either came home with me or I already own them. Seriously, the Nike ‘Legendary’ tight is life changing. So high-waisted, and SO tight…seriously corset material. A real struggle to get on but once they are, you’ve never felt so “supported” and slim. And the Brooks ‘Chaser’ short are an easy go-to. I own these in red but I’m eyeing this new pattern with reflective stripes in the design for safe, after-hours workouts. Last but not least, I love all of the Adidas gear on sale this year. I bought a replacement for last year’s Logo tank; I’ve worn it so much.

Anniversary Sale: Activewear Favorites

Just one day left until the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public! Well…technically a several hours, because you can shop online at 12:01 am PST this Friday. And, I would suggest shopping early (maybe even that early!) to score all of the major sale goodies that are sure to sell out quickly. Be sure you’ve checked out my top picks post from last week to prepare for what I’m sure will be the first to go!

In the meantime, today I’m highlighting my favorite activewear pieces on sale. I always cruise activewear at the sale because there are great deals on the basics that I reach for time and time again, most every morning throughout the year. And, if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you don’t have to patiently wait until the aforementioned stroke of midnight tonight to add these to your cart!

Zella

Zella’s selection at the sale never disappoints! This lightweight, hooded track jacket came home with me. I also love all of their fun prints and creative designs, particularly on pants. And always a great value!

Adidas

Asics

If you are an Asics Kayano fan, this is the time of year to replace your kicks! These are a great deal on one of the most popular styles of running shoes (and I love the color combo too).

Nike

These are a compression tight, so they should be difficult to get on. Keep in mind that this is how they stay up as you put them through the paces. And I speak from experience, if you go up a size, you will constantly be tugging them up during your workout, which is never a good feeling!

Not as much fun as a stylish purchase, but I also use this sale as an opportunity to refresh my basics (think socks, bras, and underwear). These Zella socks are a great quality – they’ll be sure to last you at least until next year’s sale!

Just to remind you, all of my picks are hand-selected through a cumbersome process called “trying it on” (as evidenced by my dressing room cam shot below). It was nearing the end of the day, so I had to cut off my head!

Outfits: Yoga in the Park

As a follow-up to last week’s post highlighting my favorite activewear pieces from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I’m posting a yoga outfit that I’m already living in. And these pants are not only namaste wear, but they have also made an appearance at an Orange Theory fitness class.

I’m currently Lovin’ all of the fun printed leggings. However, as you can imagine, it is difficult to find just the right pair. Many have a white background that, when stretched, shows a lot of white (not-to-mention makes the pattern oversized and blurry…no thanks). These leggings do neither…as demonstrated.

And this tank is the perfect length for taller gals (or those with a long torso like yours truly). With so many bright colors to choose from, these are the perfect pairing with printed pants.

Anniversary Sale: Activewear

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale activewear selection is off the charts this year! In particular, I am impressed by Zella’s selection, with many fun prints and lovely colors to choose from. Below you will find my favorite workout wear and gear:

Bottoms: Too many good ones to choose from! I’m loving the prints this year, but each of these pants (with the exception of the Onzie pair, come in solid colors as well). In my opinion, activewear should be fun and motivate you to hit the gym (studio, pavement…whatever your preference). My only advice for any bold statement, is to wear it with confidence.

Tops: Zella’s selection is just too good to be true. In fact, I try to find variety in my selections but I just couldn’t pass on these (literally – I came home with all of them!) I plan to wear the bomber with jeans and a tee…way too cute for only the gym.

Footwear: Whether you’re looking for running shoes, trainers, or even studio socks – you can find a great selection on sale. I’m loving the knit look of the Nike Frees and the classic Internationalist sneaker has been a favorite for years now.

If you are not a Nordstrom cardholder, not to worry…the sale finally opens to the public this Friday, July 17th. Though sales people often say that they don’t replenish merchandise, it has been my experience that there is more stock on hand when the sale starts for everyone.
