As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to reflect on the year’s accomplishments and raise a glass to all the possibilities of 2019. It’s such a special time to celebrate with friends and share the excitement with your kids. However, after Christmas, it may not be the best time to be shopping for a new festive look.
In keeping with last week’s post, I’m wearing clothes I already own as I ring in this new year. I’m investing in pieces that I will wear on repeat and trying to ignore the allure of fast fashion and online sales. Perhaps you’ve noticed this year; 2018 has been a change in strategy for me. Less shopping content and more styling wisdom. This is a practice I am mindfully putting into practice in my own life this past year and I hope that it has been reflected in this space as well.
Buy clothes you love, because you will wear them. The sparkly pieces with ruffles and bows, embellished sequin skirts, jewel-tone satin shirts with statement sleeves, and all the band tees…but only if you will reach for them for most any occasion. Then remix these favorite pieces in new and creative ways. I promise you, you will always have something to wear that you will feel great in.
