As you’ve probably gathered by now, I’m a gal that loves to shop (this serves me well professionally, budgeting meanwhile…not so much). However, I also love a bargain. And ’tis the season for rock-bottom sale prices on winter merchandise. Particularly for those of us living in climates that will likely necessitate us wrapping up in winter wear for the next 3 months (ok 4…I was being optimistic), this means that we can score some deals on clothes that we will be wearing now.
This dress is a score from the Zara sale. It’s not too late, sometimes “picked over” can actually work in your favor, as retailers continue to mark down their prices in an effort to off-load their winter merchandise to make way for spring. And this is a piece that will brighten my winter blacks and greys; easy as worn here with tall boots or even paired with tights. Simply add a cardigan, vest, or a cocoon coat to ward of the winter chill. As the weather warms, I plan to lose the belt and rock the looser silhouette paired with summer sandals, exchanging the felt hat for a straw fedora!
And, these boots! Goes without saying (but I will, just in case), when you find a pair of over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman boots at the Nordstrom Rack for a fraction of the retail price, you MUST buy! I’ve worn them over jeans (obviously), but love the cool, rocker look they create when paired with skirts and dresses. Although an unplanned purchase, my closet is filled with finds that become timeless, wardrobe workhorses. While living within your means is something I endorse, I also think it’s important to leave some room in your budget for special pieces, such as these boots (whether they be a slamming deal or love at first sight).
