Blending in is the new standing out. I’ve been lusting over many a print this fall (leopard, plaid, moody florals…to name a few) but camo holds a special place in my heart. Perhaps it’s all the BDUs I’ve washed in my past. And the nod to Americana. Either way, it’s appropriate that I share this Friday trend following on the heels of Veteran’s Day.
I also love when fashion meets something else (fill in the blank here: street, function, art, etc). And fashion’s take on camouflage varies from direct homage to the uniforms of our armed forces (think fatigue jackets complete with patches) to more unexpected variations, like the silk camisole I’ve linked below.
With styling camo, anything goes. Casually, a pair of camo pants is easy with sneakers and a tee (add a slouchy cardigan for layered warmth). Or wear camo more unexpectedly by styling with a trouser and heels. The above-mentioned cami would like so stylish and sophisticated worn under a blazer. The only pairing I would stay clear of is adding a military boot, as this may veer into costume (or uniform) territory. Either way, add a little camo (or a lot) to your outfit and you’re sure to be noticed!
