Classic Denim: On the heels of last week’s post about destroyed denim, I’m advocating for a pair of classic, clean, true-blue jeans. If there is to be only one pair of jeans in your wardrobe, this pair is it. Easily worn to the office with a nice blouse or shopping paired with sneakers, a dark pair of denim will always flatter and be in style.
Simple White Tee: Dressed up under a blazer or down paired with your favorite cut-offs, a white tee is the closet work horse. Add accessories to look like you tried harder than you did – forever cool with long layered necklaces or sophisticated with a scarf looped around your neck…the possibilities are endless.
Structured Blazer: Aside from heels, there is no other piece in your wardrobe that can elevate an outfit like a structured blazer. Really want to wear your most comfy jeans and tee for “casual Friday”? Add a blazer, and you’re ready for the office. Struggling with what to wear over your sequined tank for a night-out? Top your look with a blazer and your look is instantly more sophisticated.
Pointy-Toe Heels: There is no better way to elongate your legs than with a pair of pointy-toe heels. Nude will always be flattering because they continue the line of your leg and pair easily with most anything. However, my red pair is my go-to heel because they pop against all of my grey, navy, and black attire. Any color or even a leopard print would make the most ordinary of outfits more exciting!
Chic Clutch: Not your satin or sequined evening minaudiére, but a bag big enough to fit your essentials, that’s easy to tuck under your arm for a dinner date or wear cross-body when browsing the farmer’s market. Similar to shoes (or any accessories), I prefer a stand-out pattern or color…go wild!
