Why hello strangers! Feeling neglected? Seeking style inspiration and life updates only to find a stagnating blog seemingly forgotten by yours truly. I hear ya. Ready for the truth? I’ve been doing some soul searching lately and have been considering how I am spending my time. It is finite, after all. My kids are growing older (as am I) and, with summer break approaching, I’ve been wanting to focus more on my family and our priorities; which include travel and some major home improvement projects.
I’ve also been a little disillusioned lately with the mechanics of social media. And, in addition to the marketing game seemingly required to grow my little blog, I’ve also been considering how I can be more authentic both in this space and on Instagram and Facebook (heaven forbid I should even start with Pinterest and Twitter is beyond me!). It’s so easy to get caught up in this game – who is wearing what, following whom, with whom, doing what, etc. I must admit, that it’s gotten me a bit in a funk lately. The comparison opportunities available in our connected lives can be overwhelming, not-to-mention addicting and, ultimately, unhealthy.
Rather than completely shutting all of this down (which in the depths seemed like a viable option), I’m focusing on my content by creating meaningful posts to share with all of you. No matter how many of you there are (or what you’re wearing, eating, and doing), you can continue to expect more of what I’m loving, where I’m going, and what I’m using in the most inspiring, sharing what’s great, offering advice kind of way. I want to offer great photos, cute outfits, and amazing recommendations. All of this in an authentic, truly connected kind of way. If I get paid to post something or offered free product in exchange for sharing, it’s only because I truly love it. Know that. I say a lot of “no” and am agreeing to far less. I stand behind everything I put in this space and feel good about that.
So, I have a favor to ask of you. Every once and awhile, let me know you’re here. Ok? Ask me questions. Please give me feedback (of any kind). Offer suggestions. Being behind this screen (after bedtime, most likely on a Thursday) can feel a bit lonely and one-sided. Tell me about you, what you want to see, what you’re loving, or would like to learn more about. You can leave a comment below or follow me on Instagram and Facebook. I’m still there…for now!
Speaking of authenticity, I absolutely love this entire outfit. Own it, wear it, and relish every compliment received. Because these pieces are that good. And you should know about them too.
