You likely already know how much I love me some sneakers! And the Brooks heritage line is the gift that keeps on giving to this sneaker aficionado. The classic retro design of these Brooks Chariots, paired with a unique pique texture, adds extra interest to most any outfit. In particular, the black on black color combo has made this pair my “dress sneakers.”
And why not have a pair of dressy sneakers?? Fashion rules are made to be broken, after all! This skirt and sneaker combo is not taking a page from “Working Girl” (am I the only one that remembers comfy commuting-shoes, often white, paired with hosiery?!). Instead, the sneakers add some street cred to an otherwise dressy outfit. This would look just as a cool with a knotted white tee and denim vest (maybe that’s up next?) or keep the jacket and add a pair of jeans for a more expected and casual look. Either way, sneakers for the win!
Seriously? These sneakers are just so good! You’ll catch me wearing these most days of the week, as comfy and chic are two requirements of my wardrobe. But I also love that Brooks is a company based right here in the Pacific Northwest (actually Seattle!). It makes me feel good to find, love, and support products crafted in my own backyard. And, as a lifelong runner, I am also impressed by Brooks continued commitment to offering runners truly functional gear. Because, when function meets fashion, it’s always a no-brainer!
